EVEN IF POPE IS MY RUNNING MATE, CHRISTIANS WON’T VOTE FOR ME, SAYS EL-RUFAI

January 17, 2019
Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State says he is aware that 67 per cent of Christians in southern Kaduna will not vote for him in the governorship election even if he picks the Pope as his running mate.

He added that there was a need for competence to be given priority ahead of religion and ethnicity, hence his decision to run with a Muslim/Muslim ticket in the 2019 governorship election.
El-Rufai, who was a guest on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily programme on Thursday, said Nigeria ought to divorce religion from politics.
The governor, who is a Muslim, had come under harsh criticisms from the Christian Association of Nigeria and other interests groups for picking a Muslim as running mate.
El-Rufai, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, said even his outgoing deputy, Yusuf Bala Bantex, who is a Christian, was treated like an outcast because he was in the APC.
Defending his action, however, el-Rufai said, “What if I tell you that no matter who I choose as my running mate, even if I choose the Pope, 67 per cent of the Christians in southern Kaduna have made up their minds that they will never vote for me.
“This is what the polls show.
“So, for me, that is not the issue. The issue is this: Kaduna State is divided, it needs to be united. The way to begin to unite it is to take religion or ethnicity off the table.
“Since 1992, every deputy governor of Kaduna has been a Christian. What has it done for the state? Has it united the state? Has it assuaged the feelings of the Christian minority?
“My current deputy governor is a Christian and I didn’t pick him because he is Christian. I picked him because we were colleagues from university and I know him to be a brilliant, focused and just man. But, did that change anything?
“In fact, what it did was to bring disrespect to him. No one respected him in southern Kaduna because he is in what they call an Islamic party.
“So, there are complicated issues in Kaduna, which people sitting from a distance will not understand.”
The governor said his choice of a female Muslim running mate would help Kaduna State to see beyond politics and religion.
El-Rufai said the federal character principle in Nigeria was stifling development.
He said although his decision to pick a Muslim running mate was unpopular in some quarters, he was confident of winning the polls come March.
The governor said information made available to him showed that the Peoples Democratic Party, which ruled the state for 16 years, never won any election in the state but always rigged its way into power.
He added, “I want to assure you. One, I want to win this election so I am not going to take a foolish decision to make any point. I want to win the election for my party and the President.
“Those that are making the argument that I must have a Christian running mate have not been able to justify it, based on history.
“From 1992, we have had more violence in Kaduna than before. The presence of a Christian deputy did not change anything.
“Even when a Christian, Patrick Yakowa, of blessed memory, was governor, it did not stop the violence, the intolerance and the insensitivity. In fact, it exacerbated it.
“In Kaduna, in my view, the way to heal and unite the state is to completely remove religion and ethnicity from the state; but we cannot change three decades of intole rance in the state.”

WHATS_KILLING_YOUR_KIDNEY ?

January 17, 2019
A Ghanaian doctor in the United States sent this to help everyone. Please read and take care of yourself. Dr. Okyere.
The speed at which young people suffer from kidney disease is alarming.
I share a post that can help us.
PLEASE READ BELOW:
#IMPORTANT :
"Just a few months ago, we all learned of the disappearance of the Nigerian actor as a result of kidney disease.
ALSO OUR MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS, the Honorable Teko Lake is currently in the hospital because of kidney problems. I want to show you how to avoid this threat of kidney disease.
★SO HERE ARE THE 6 MAIN CAUSES OF KIDNEY DISEASE:

1. Delay going to the bathroom. Keeping your urine in your bladder too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage. The urine left in the bladder multiplies the bacteria quickly. Once the urine returns to the ureter and kidneys, toxic substances can lead to kidney infections, then urinary infections, then nephritis and even uremia. When nature calls - do it as soon as possible.

2. Eat too much salt. You should not eat more than
5.8 grams of salt a day.

3. Eat too much meat. Too much protein in your diet is harmful to your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia, a very destructive toxin for the kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage.

4. Drink too much caffeine. Caffeine is a component of many sodas and soft drinks. This increases your blood pressure and your kidneys begin to suffer. So you should reduce the amount of coke you drink every day.

5. Do not Drink water. Our kidneys must be well hydrated to perform their duties well. If we do not drink enough, the toxins can begin to accumulate in the blood because there is not enough fluid to drain them through the kidneys. Drink more than 10 glasses of water a day. There is an easy way to check if you're drinking enough water: look at the color of your urine; the lighter the color, the better.

6. Late treatment. Treat all your health problems early and have your health checked regularly. Let us help ... God will protect you and your family against all diseases this year.

January 14, 2019

Gnome is a small creature like a small man, with a pointed hat, who lives under the ground, guard gold and precious things. Yoruba adage says "eni t'oba f'oju Ana W'oku, Ebora a Bo laso.

"EGBERE" as commonly called by Yoruba mythology has a spirited powerful mat called "Eni egbere. According to Yoruba people's believe it makes one rich beyond imagination.
Gnome is essentially an African version of the leprechauns. Reputed to carry a mat that if stolen, would make the bearer extremely rich, (same way the Irish dreamed of stealing the leprechauns pot of riches) always crying like a baby.
It is said to be a malevolent spirit with a small stature, Known for carrying a mat of wealth wherever it goes, and the mat is carved by diminutive Glome, which is said to take months or years to carve and it is believed to be a unique one. The Yoruba people believe is that if you steal the mat, the spirit of the gnome will follow you around for days, wailling to give back the mat you stoled, but if you can ignore and stand all that for the said period of time you become very rich, that's part of the myth.
Habitually they use to be in remote forest, where only strong hunters can reach.
The Question now is do they still exist?
If you could ask me, I will say yes, but you can't find them close, due to civiliz ation.

She never stole a dime but a victim of circumstances, yet she resigned. In Yoruba land, a good name is better than silver and gold.
Same country, South south governors have met, southern youths are threatening, activists are fuming, politicians are daring because 'our Son' must not be removed because he 'merely' forgot to declare a MEAGRE 700,000,000 million naira and 50 houses. So what?

OLOOLU - The Father of all masquerades in Ibadan

January 14, 2019
Egungun (masquerade) is a popular practice found in the cultures of the Yourba people who dwell in the south western part of Nigeria.

It is a means of connecting the people to their long gone ancestors who appear in form of human-spirit to give warnings or shower their blessings on the land. Oloolu is a very powerful Egungun/ eegun (masquerade) in the Yoruba city of Ibadan. The name Oloolu is not in any way new to the ears of any Ibadan indigene or dweller. At the mention of Oloolu, Ibadan people, women especially, shiver in cold and fear which ascertain the claim that Oloolu is the most feared masquerade in Ibadan and one of the most revered in the entire Yorubaland and Africa.
The Oloolu masquerade is feared because of its powers, history and sacrality. Women are not allowed to see Oloolu because of the female skull attached to the top of its attire. It is believed that any woman that sees Oloolu will have her menstrual period disturbed and could eventually die. Also, it is believed that on the first appearance of the Oloolu masquerade, the first person it sees will fall ill and if necessary rites are not performed, the victim might die.
The history of Oloolu masquerade has it that a brave warrior named Ayorinde Aje who fought battles alongside Oderinlo, Ogunmola, Ogbori-efon and other Ibadan warriors, went to war in Ogbagi, a town in Akoko, presently in Ondo State. During the war, no one was able to face the powerful war masquerade of the town which was Oloolu. Ayorinde Aje was the only one who challenged and defeated the masquerade. He then took the Oloolu bearer captive and led him to Ibadan. On the way, the wife of the bearer refused to continue the journey and in annoyance, Ayorinde Aje beheaded her and commanded her husband to add her head to the outfit of Oloolu. This was how Oloolu masquerade began in Ibadan and why women are forbidden to see Oloolu masquerade.Ibadan
Oloolu masquerade comes out every July to celebrate the Oloolu festival which is believed to bring blessings upon the land. At every appearance, Oloolu masquerade goes round the heartbeat areas of Ibadan such as Popo-Yemoja, Beere, Oja’ba and so on. Whenever Oloolu masquerade is on display, no other masquerade is allowed to come out, otherwise, it will meet its waterloo. History has it that during the reign of Olubadan Dada, an Egungun (masquerade) called Iponri-Iku came out when Oloolu was displaying. The duo then engaged in a hot duel. It was said that Oloolu dropped a mystical cowry on the ground and dared Iponri-Iku to pick it up if he can. As Iponri-Iku bent down to pick the special cowry, he broke his spine and eventually died. Since then, no masquerade dare challenge the Oloolu.
The tradition of Oloolu masquerade forbid its bearer to meet his woman 30 days before coming out. Also, during the display, the bearer must not wear shoes or carry any load other than Oloolu costume which include different pieces of clothes, a net, a human thigh bone, and a female skull attached to its head which makes it look more dreadful. The skull is that of the woman whom history said was beheaded by the warrior Ayorinde Aje. During the olden days, Oloolu masquerade used to wear a mask which detect the presence of women. But it was said that the mask was lost to Europeans who took it to their land.
No one can gainsay the claim that Oloolu masquerade is the most popular, feared and celebrated masquerade in ibadan, the city of heroes.
